First Bike Asia Opening

Bike Asia, the first international trade show and exhibition in Asia for bicycles, motorcycles and accessories, will be held at Singapore Expo in Singapore from April 10 to 13, 2008.

Bike Asia 2008 is organized by BikeAsia Ptd Ltd., a joint venture between EICMA from Italy and Innovative Exhibition from Singapore . The gross areas of Singapore Expo covers 20,000 square meters.

The exhibitors are manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles, bicycles and accessories and providers of services for the two wheel industry and consumers, according to the show organizer.

The first two days of the show (April 10 & 11) will be open to the traders only, while the last two days (April 12 & 13) will be open to the public.

Bike Asia 2008 has several objectives. The first of them, the show organizer said, is to provide an effective platform for business opportunities among manufacturers of two wheelers, components, accessories and importers, distributors and other players in the industry.

The second objective is to promote bicycles and motorcycles as an alternative and complementary lifestyle ˇV healthy, practical and fashionable. Another objective is to highlight the positive impact of two wheelers on urban travel issues ˇV reduced congestion, traffic and pollution.

Road bikes, racing bikes, MTB or ˇĄchoppersˇ¦ will be at Bike Asia together with trendy accessories and services designed for cyclists. Pretigious brands like Colnago, Cannondale and Bianchi will be present at the exhibition to share the limelight with a few fast-growing brands from Asia.

Asia manufactures 90 percent of the global motorcycle output, according to figures released by the show organizer, adding that high-end bicycles and motorcycles are a growing demand among the affluent and the women.
