Giant Tests Folding Bike

Taiwan's largest bicycle maker, the Giant Manufacturing Company, released its latest model folding bike locally, just after the Chinese New Year.

The bicycle, dubbed "Halfway", is sharply designed and easily folds down to within the dimensions of 30x60x80 cm. Local retailers cited poor design as one reason Giant's previous folding bikes saw only middling sales, though they are optimistic about the new Halfway.

The bicycle's main features are its 20-inch tires and aluminum alloy H-type folding frame. The product release was timed so that a test marketing run could be conducted locally in advance of April's cycle show. Last year, Giant test marketed its first ever e-bike, Lafree, during the same period.
