Fairly Upgrades E-Bike

The Fairly Bike Manufacturing Company is coming out with an improved second-generation electric bicycle. Fairly, which serves as an OEM manufacturer for Lee Iacocca's line of EVG electric bicycles, is upgrading the e-bike's power source from a two battery, 24-volt system to a single battery, 36-volt system.

The new, more powerful battery will increase both power output and range, while remaining the same weight as the first generation battery. Fairly officials said that the new battery was developed in association with a local battery maker and that the product will be debuted at the Taipei International Cycle Show on April 7.

Last year saw the introduction of EVG Motor's electric bicycle and was by and large the first year in which electric bicycles saw notable production volume in Taiwan. Fairly officials estimate that e-bikes were responsible for about NT$ 250 million of their company's revenues last year.
