R&D Center New Facilities

The Taiwan Bicycle Industry R&D Center's new office building was officially opened on March 8 at the Taichung Industrial Park in central Taiwan, with more than 300 people, including government and industry leaders, attending the inauguration ceremony.

"It's a good feeling to have our own home," said Sammy Y.S. Pai, chairman of the R&D Center and head of MT Racing. Pai noted that the completion of the project was made possible through government encouragement and financial support, as well as through financial donations from within the industry.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Pai said the center would consolidate the Taiwan bicycle industry's resources to establish a web site aimed at buyers around the world. He also revealed that the R&D Center has been commissioned by the Taiwan Bicycle Exporters' Association (TBEA) to set up a global bicycle e-commerce network, and to provide education and training programs.

Liao Ben-chang, president of the Taiwan Bicycle Industry R&D Center, added that the 12 research and experimental departments at the new office building will provide better research and development, testing and networking services to the bicycle community.
