According to recent financial statements from Giant Manufacturing, Taiwan's largest bicycle manufacturer, Giant Taiwan's third quarter after-tax profit showed a decline compared to the first two quarters of the year.
The 3Q after-tax revenue amounted to NT$90 million (US$2.61 million). Giant's first and second quarter after-tax profits, respectively, were NT$280 million (US$8.13 million) and NT$140 million (US$4.06 million). Even with the decrease in revenue, of the seven bicycle companies listed on the Taiwan stock market, at NT$1.97, Giant displayed the highest after-tax earnings per share for the first nine months of 2001.
