Jack Chang, general manager of Ideal Bike Corporation, is expected
to be the next chairman of the Taiwan Bicycle Industry R&D Center
(TBIRDC), succeeding Sammy Pai, chairman of MT Racing Inc.
A recent board of directors and supervisors meeting nominated
Chang as the next chairman of the center. The nomination has already
been submitted to the Ministry of Economic Affairs for approval.
The Taiwan Bicycle Industry R&D Center was founded in Taichung,
central Taiwan, in 1992, with financial resources jointly provided
by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the bicycle industry. In
addition to industry leaders, the center's board of directors and
supervisors are composed of academics and government leaders.
Every year the center holds an international bicycle design contest
and awards are presented to winners at the opening ceremony of the
Taipei International Cycle Show, usually staged in late March or
early April.
Ideal Bike Corporation is a manufacturer of complete bicycles,
ranging from mountain bikes to folding bikes and electric bicycles
for export mainly to the U.S. and Europe.
